Holy hell, the visuals look astonishing. Animation variety is pretty limited, but the animations that do appear are very simple yet fluid. Love that you implemented a spear platform mechanic, since it makes the game feel more sensible and down-to-earth.
Story seems pretty interesting; a woman who seeks heirage(?) from laser dude. I wonder how you envisioned the rest of the story, since you did say there's supposed to be a level before this fight.
If there's something I saw that needed more work, I think there lacked a bit more "helpful" vfx/indicators during the second half of the fight. The arena laser sweep only had a 1-2-3 kind of indicator from the boss sprite; that means you dunno what's going on when you run to the other side to dodge. There's also the bombs not showing an explosion effect when attacked. I may just be wrong, but for me the bombs just disappear when I attack them.
But yeah, aside from the previous paragraph, fight was great. I almost no-hit during my 2 win attempts, but the experience was cool. Looking forward to the updated version.
no idea how to dodge the second phase where the lazer barriers just moves from left to right or other way around that barrier is too high to jump over. or does on need to destroy all 3 orbs or something?
I jsut cant seem to get it. the attac cooldown is kind of annoying too in a way
Hey, glad you liked it enough to get to the second stage a couple of times. You can throw spears into the wall which act as platforms and allow you to jump higher.
The tutorial didn't really make the cut into this version of the game.
i know but I am jsut not fast enough to jump over the bomb throw the spear in some decent height and jump on it, maybe doing another jump, before the guy dashes over
Really like the art, the range of your melee attack, and most of the boss attacks! Really wish I could hold down a button to keep attacking since its sort of a long fight. I've gotten pretty stuck on the electricity wall boss attack, i'm seeing now that you can jump really high if you keep holding down jump but it took many tries to figure that out.
Overall you definitely created a really good foundation for a 2d combat game!
Right out of the gate. feels like dead cells. The combat is really and I can feel progress each tries and the boss design are really good! I wish I had heals with me
Had fun with it =) just wish i coulda been a little better at it haha! Would have been able to beat him if I coulda figured out the wall of lightning attack xD great looking game! I am definitely excited to see more on it!!!! Keep up the amazing work and leaving a follow!!!!
Hey, glad you had fun. I know the tutorialization is quite bad as it's one of the things that fell by the wayside in the crunch before release.
Sorry to hear the lighting wall is a bit unintuitive to figure out, but if you get stuck on the boss like a spear in the wall you should jump for joy knowing there is a way past that attack.
oooohhhhh :D
